Privacy Policy
What this website collects, what it doesn't, and how that's different from the privacy of therapy itself.
The short version. This website has no forms, no logins, and no newsletter. There is nothing here for you to fill in, so there is nothing for the site to collect from you directly. It does count visits and page views so Janie can see which pages people find useful. It sets no cookies. It does not sell anything about you, and it does not run advertising.
Browsing this site is not therapy
Reading these pages does not create a therapist–client relationship, and nothing you do here becomes part of a clinical record. The confidentiality that applies to therapy is a separate and much stronger protection, governed by California law, HIPAA where applicable, and the Notice of Privacy Practices and informed-consent paperwork Janie provides to clients directly. This policy covers the website only.
What's collected
Analytics.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics — counts page views without using cookies and without building a profile of individual visitors. It records aggregate information such as which page was viewed, the referring site, general region, and page-load speed.
Server logs. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which keeps standard security and delivery logs.
What isn't collected
- No contact forms, intake forms, or questionnaires — none exist on this site
- No accounts, logins, or saved profiles
- No advertising or retargeting pixels, and no social media tracking pixels
- No cookies. This site does not set cookies on your browser at all.
- No selling or sharing of personal information with anyone, for any purpose
- No health information. Reading a page about a particular condition tells this site nothing about you personally, and no such inference is recorded or stored.
If you call or email
The phone number and email address on the contact page are ordinary phone and email. Regular email is not a secure or encrypted channel, so please don't send detailed personal or health information by email. Say you'd like to talk and Janie will call you. Anything you do send is used only to respond to you.
Links to other sites
Booking links go to the Feeling Good Institute, where Janie currently practices, and the site links to her Psychology Today profile. Once you follow those links you're on someone else's website, under their privacy policy, not this one.
Your choices
- Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals are honored. Since this site never sells or shares personal information, there is nothing to opt out of on that front.
California residents
Under California privacy law you have the right to know what personal information is collected about you, to request that it be deleted, to correct it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. This site does not sell or share personal information, and exercising any of these rights will never affect the service you receive. To make a request, use the contact details below.
Children
This practice serves adults and couples, and this site isn't directed at children. No information is knowingly collected from anyone under 18.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date at the top.
